In both the UK and Ireland, a vast number of existing dwellings require modernisation. Many of these homes feature solid wall construction, and the methods used to insulate them are crucial for both the buildings integrity and the occupants health and wellbeing. A breathable approach using bio-based materials like wood fibre can effectively meet these critical needs.
The CPD will explore key topics, including:
The importance of assessing existing buildings
The benefits of wood fibre insulation
Determining the most suitable systems: External Wall Insulation (EWI) or Internal Wall Insulation (IWI)
Detailed build-up techniques
We will also show examples of wood fibre insulation being used for external and internal wall insulation systems in single leaf masonry, as well as the use of flexible insulation batts.
This CPD is ideal for architects, designers, specifiers, and anyone interested in building physics. It highlights how the appropriate use of materials can significantly enhance building performance and human health.
STEICO offers its customers ecological construction products from renewable raw materials and has been able to position itself in its thirty-year history as a system provider for ecological house building and innovation drivers.
