Skamol Lime Mortar

Skamol Lime Mortar is a lime-based ready-to-use product that can be used as both an adhesive and plaster when mounting SkamoWall.

Mix a 20kg bag with approx. 4.5L of clean water for about 7 minutes, yielding 3.5m² as an adhesive (5mm) or 7m² as plaster (2mm).

The work must be carried out within a temperature range of +5°C to +25°C. Use clean tools and make sure that the surface of the substrate is free of dust before applying the product.

Store the product in its original packaging in a dry and dark place. Protect against moisture and negative temperatures.

How to use Skamol Lime Mortar:

1. Remove loose plaster, tar, paint residue and organic materials from the wall. In case of mold growth, clean the wall with a biocidal product.
   
   
2. Make sure the wall is level. Several layers of Skamol Lime Mortarcan be applied with a thickness of 10mm to level the surface of the wall. Each layer must harden before a new layer of adhesive is applied.
   
   
3. Use water or Skamol Primer to ensure the wall surface is free of dust.
   
   
4. Remove dust from the side of the SkamoWall Board facing the wall.
   
   
5. Apply Skamol Primer to the side of the SkamoWall Board facing the wall. There is no difference in the function of the two sides of the SkamoWall Board, so it does not matter which side of the SkamoWall Board is mounted facing the room.
   
   
6. Wait approx. 30 minutes for Skamol Primer to dry.
   
   
7. Mix Skamol Lime Mortar at a ratio of approx. 4.5L of clean water per 20kg bag.
   
8. Pour 2.5L of water into a mixing bucket
9. Add the entire contents of the Skamol Lime Mortar bag while stirring vigorously
10. Add the remaining 2L of water to the mixture until achieving the desired consistency
11. Stir the mixture vigorously for about 7 minutes
12. Let the mixture rest for about 2 minutes and stir again for about 1 minute
13. After mixing, Skamol Lime Mortar can be used for approx. 2 hours
    
    
14. Apply Skamol Lime Mortar to the wall in an even layer with an 8mm notched trowel. We also recommend to apply Skamol Lime Mortar to the surface of the side of SkamoWall Board facing the wall in an even layer with an 8mm notched trowel. The total layer of Skamol Lime Mortar should be between 4mm and 10mm.
    
    
15. Place the SkamoWall Board approx. 10cm from the desired location.
    
    
16. Immediately push the SkamoWall Board into place to level out the Skamol Lime Mortar. SkamoWall Board must be fully bonded to the Skamol Lime Mortar, leaving a 5mm gap between SkamoWall Board and the floor. The gap may be filled with an inorganic elastic material such as self-adhesive foam or silicone.

If Skamol Lime Mortar is used as a plaster, follow these instructions:

1. Remove dust from the surface of the mounted SkamoWall Board.
   
   
2. Apply Skamol Primer to the surface of the mounted SkamoWall Board.
   
   
3. Wait approx. 30 minutes for Skamol Primer to dry.
   
   
4. Mix Skamol Lime Mortar at a ratio of approx. 4.5L of clean water per 20kg bag:
5. Pour 2.5L of water into a mixing bucket.
6. Add the entire contents of the Skamol Lime Mortar bag while stirring vigorously.
7. Add the remaining 2.0L of water to the mixture until the desired consistency is achieved.
8. Stir the mixture vigorously for about 7 minutes.
9. Let the mixture rest for about 2 minutes and then stir again for about 1 minute.
10. After mixing, Skamol Lime Mortar can be used for approx. 2 hours.
    
    
11. Apply Skamol Lime Mortar to the mounted SkamoWall Board with an 8mm notched trowel to achieve an even thickness of between 1.5mm and 4mm.
    
    
12. Level and felt Skamol Lime Mortar.
    
    
13. If desired, the hardened Skamol Lime Mortar can be felted and moistened, after which a new layer of Skamol Lime Mortar of between 1.5mm and 4mm can be applied on top of the existing Skamol Lime Mortar. This can be repeated until the desired result is achieved.
