Roundtower Performance Mortars course will focus specifically on our range of premixed lime mortars. Lime Mortars are convenient to use, coming premixed with a range of sands for specific applications.
The Roundtower Mortars range includes regular lime mortars for restoration and conservation work, but also a range of carbon neutral newbuild mortars and a comprehensive range of performance mortars for specific situations.
The course will predominantly focus on the below:
Roundtower Premixed Lime Mortar - Multi-purpose Lime Mortar & Render for Pointing, Rendering and general building work.
Roundtower Harbour Mortar - Fast setting and durable mortar for aggressive marine environments.
Roundtower Marine Mortar - Mortar designed for use in tidal zones and similar applications with regular contact with water.
Roundtower Newbuild - Attractive, flexible, low carbon lime based mortars and render for modern construction.
Roundtower Woodlath Render - A fibred mortar for keying into woodlath backgrounds.
Roundtower Conservation Grouts - For consolidation and joint filling of solid masonry.
Roundtower Wintermix - Natural Hydraulic Lime render, formulated to rapidly develop strength to resist frost damage within 10 days.
We will look at the specifics of each product as well as projects where they have been used.
The content of this course equates to one hour towards your CPD and we can forward a certificate to you upon completion. More details are available during the course.
Adam Brown is a qualified Building Surveyor with 10+ years of expertise specialising in building conservation, lime-based products and technical consultancy. Adam works closely with the team and our clients, providing consultancy at any project stage. Adam’s expertise includes lime-based materials, natural paints, insulation, technical consultancy and sustainable materials. Adam’s education includes a Bachelor of Science(BSc) in Building Surveying and the Environment and an FdSc in Sustainable Construction from Plymouth University
Harry Good-Stephenson Harry Good-Stephenson is the Director of Roundtower Building Products Ltd and has been involved in Roundtower for the past 6 years. He studied Business and Entrepreneurship at the University of Reading. Harry has an in-depth knowledge of all aspects of the restoration and new build industry using lime-based products as well as natural insulations and is heavily involved in advising and assisting architects with specifications for conservation and restoration projects.
On the morning of the training course, all participants will receive an email containing the link to join the online course, which will be taking place via Zoom.
There will be a brief introduction from one of the Roundtower Lime team, followed by the presentation by the trainer, with the opportunity to ask questions at the end in a dedicated Q and A session with our guest speaker and our team. We will endeavour to answer all the questions presented during the time slot, however if we don't manage to, any of our team will be happy to follow up after the session.
